Regulatory affairs senior - Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom - Eslav

    Eslav
    Default job background
    Description

The University of Oxford is a complex and stimulating organisation, which enjoys an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence in research and teaching.

It employs over 10,000 staff and has a student population of over 22,000.

In September 2021, after one of the most challenging of times the world and the University sector had experienced, the Times Higher Education (THE) announced the results of its World University Rankings 2022 with the University of Oxford retaining the top spot for an impressive sixth consecutive year.

As well as being world renowned, Oxford is one of Europe's most innovative and entrepreneurial universities:
income from external research contracts exceeds £436.8m p.a., and more than 80 spin-off companies have been created.
About the Department of Biomedical Services (BMS)
BMS provides Oxford's scientists with the experimental resources they need to carry out their ground breaking research.

Last year, an extensive review of BMS provided us with the opportunity to design a range of initiatives currently underway which will look to further improve how we operate and the standards of the services we offer.

Our programme of transformational change will ensure we remain a modern biomedical organisation striving for excellence in leading the sector in delivering high standards of animal care and service delivery.

About the role of Head of Compliance

As part of our culture change we have designed this new role to ensure our research delivery is compliant with the legal frameworks in which we operate and reflects best practice in our field.

In meeting those high standards, the job holder will provide assurance, via the BMS Director, to the Establishment Licence Holder who is the University of Oxford's Registrar.

The Head of Compliance will also have a significant leadership role:

as a member of our new senior management team; in leading three distinct but inter-dependent areas of accountability – training and development, veterinary services, and Home Office Liaison; in achieving even higher standards of efficiency and effectiveness; and building strong relationships with our stakeholders across the Medical Sciences Division, the wider University and the external animal research community.

This is a challenging job, but a rewarding one.

And one that provides scope for a strong leader with a compliance background who has the experience to shape our compliance landscape and be an advocate of organisational change.

In return, you will receive a generous salary and an extensive remuneration package.
If you are a resilient leader with an unrivalled track record and would like to know more, James Bussell, Director of BMS, is available for an informal conversation by contacting
The job description and person specification together with more information about working for the University of Oxford is at Job Details )
The closing date for receipt of applications is 17:00 on Friday 5th August 2022. Interviews will be onTuesday 23rd August 2022.
