An established IT support and service organisation with clients across the South of England is looking for an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their team in East Grinstead.


This organisation has a background in building close partnerships with their clients to deliver and maintain technologies those clients rely on, wrapped with service that their clients have confidence in.


The organisation is looking for a 3rd Line Engineer for their technical team, preferably with a breadth of experience in supporting the infrastructure that organisations of depend on.

About the Role:

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) role is suited to a 3rd line support engineer who is able to own a number of key responsibilities:

  • Customer technical planning
  • 3rd line support as required (including onsite activity in your region)
  • Technical project design & documentation
  • Handle more complex issues escalated from the Service Team for your clients
  • Out of Hours cover on a rotating schedule with other colleagues

Required skills include:


  • Ability to work on own initiative and in a team
  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to delegate and escalate
  • Ability to problem solve in a logical manner
  • Efficient, well organised, and able to prioritise
  • Able to manage projects, update stakeholders, and manage risk
  • Full Driving Licence

Knowledge & Experience:


  • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
  • Microsoft Exchange (all supported version)
  • Microsoft Active Directory


  • Virtualisation knowledge

  • Hyper-V/XenServer /VM Ware


  • SAN knowledge

  • Opene DSS/Dell EqualLogic/ IBM DS Series or equivalent
  • Network routing, phone systems, web server, Office365 and Microsoft SQL knowledge an advantage

Education:


  • Maths and English qualifications equivalent to GCSE C or above.

Qualifications:

One or more of the following are valuable, although progress towards one or more of these will be taken into consideration:

  • Microsoft qualifications
  • Citrix CCP or CCE or equivalents
  • Cisco CCNA or equivalents
  • CompTIA qualifications

Narrative


Members of the TAM Team will have the skills expected of a 3rd line engineer, combined with the experience that comes with design & deployment of customer systems.

They will be able to document, advise and guide the Service Team on how to ensure customersystems are maintained to a consistent and acceptable standard, as well as provide technical escalation when operation of those systems requires greater depth of knowledge.
