NHS Dumfries & Galloway and partners from our Dental and General Practice primary care services are delighted to offer prospective colleagues the opportunity to meet fellow doctors and dentists from the region of Dumfries and Galloway online via a TEAMS meeting and find out more about working and living in a beautiful part of Scotland all from the comfort of your own home and without commitment.

Why choose our region?
If you enjoy outdoor adventure, there are 7stanes mountain biking centres, foraging activities for families and over 200 miles of coastline to explore. If you are community minded and love being part of a wider family then many of our small towns and villages have their own unique annual celebrations, from the traditional Annan Riding of the Marches and Dumfries Guid Nychburris, to international, food and music festivals that you can get involved with.

Our region is also home to a close community of artists and book lovers. However, if staying home is not for you, we also have the amazing cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Carlisle, Newcastle and Belfast ( if you are the on west coast of region) for you to visit or do some shopping, all within hours.

House prices are well below the UK national average with prices for 3-4 bedroom houses being around £185,983 and rentals for a 3 bedroom house with garden ranging between £500 and £750 per month, depending on the location. Additionally, you will find great schools, free university education for your children (if you have lived in Scotland for 3 years) and free prescriptions. Why wouldn't you at least check us out and consider a better cost of living and work life balance?

Our Workforce sustainability team will be on hand at the event to provide advice on cost of living and we can also put you in touch with some of our welcome ambassadors who have moved in to the region and love to pass their support on to others.
