- Doctoral degree or equivalent accepted by the British Psychological Society as qualifying the person to work as a clinical psychologist
- Registration as a clinical psychologist with the Health Professions Council
- ADOS trained
- Certificate in supervision skills
- Additional post graduate training in psychological therapies and interventions
- Significant experience of working with children and young people with autism and social communication difficulties
- Relevant experience and training in multi-disciplinary assessments of ASD in children and adolescents
- Proven experience of working effectively with people with mental health difficulties, including autonomous management of a complex caseload which frequently deals with distressing and emotional circumstances
- Experience of working with hard to reach diverse community groups and individuals with emerging complex needs, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities and safeguarding
- Experience of assessing and managing risk: including safeguarding
- Experience of developing and providing evidenced based assessments, formulations, and care plans and effective use of ROMS

This role is open to current clinical psychologists/year 3 psychology trainees.
The post offers an exciting and varied opportunity to be part of an innovative specialist learning disability and autism teams. This is a band 7 role for a clinical psychologist. The Specialist Community Service for Learning Disabilities and Autism ( SCS-LDA)is a city-wide community team of learning disability nurses, clinical psychologists and speech and language therapists. The team provides a clinical service to children and young people with severe learning disabilities and/or complex autism.
This post is based in south Manchester, where the Early Years social communication pathway offers its innovative service delivery
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will play a key role indelivering group work and will be clinically responsible on behalf of CAMHS for families seen within these groups. They will be trained in Positive Behaviour Support (to level of PBS coach) and will be responsible for developing and delivering Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans independently. Due to the level of independent working and management of high levels of risk, the postholder is expected to have experience of working with this client group and of managing complex cases. The post-holder duties will include contributing to multi-agency liaison, consultation and training of other professionals as appropriate. The post-holder will be expected to be part of the ongoing co-production of services in Manchester.
