Committed to providing exceptional education and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, we are seeking a dynamic Head of Physics to contribute to the leadership of the Science department and inspire the next generation of physicists.
Role Overview:
As the Head of Physics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the Science department.
This is an exciting opportunity to drive forward the teaching and learning of Physics within a forward-thinking academy.Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Physics department, ensuring alignment with the school's overall objectives.
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of passionate Physics teachers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Design and deliver engaging and challenging Physics curriculum, tailored to meet the needs of students across all key stages
Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, implementing effective strategies for improvement where necessary.
Ensure effective assessment and tracking of student progress, using data to inform teaching practice and intervention strategies.
Collaborate with colleagues across the Science department and wider school community to promote cross-curricular initiatives and enrichment opportunities.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Physics or a related field.
Significant experience teaching Physics at secondary level, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.
A passion for education and a desire to make a positive difference to the lives of young people.
