Description

CCR is looking for a temp Maitenance Operative, To undertake hydrant maintenance operations to meet the needs of the Brigade.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Corporate

1.6 To maintain relevant skills and knowledge aligned to key responsibilities and National Occupational Standards to determine continued maintenance of competence in role.


Functional

Contribute towards hydrant maintenance duties, including lone working:


  • To undertake effective identification, inspection, maintenance, service and repair of hydrants, associated equipment and their marker systems ensuring operational availability and effective water supply.
  • To assess hydrant installations and sites, provide reports and identify defects or damage requiring third party action.
  • To assist with upkeep of stock commodities and ensure the safety and security of all assets held in relation to the role.
  • To meet the transport requirements of the role using Brigade vehicles to visit sites and collect materials/equipment and relocate such items as necessary.
  • To undertake work on any site where hydrants are present.
  • To undertake duties according to relevant risk assessments, safe systems of work and using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
  • To electronically update and record inspection results and report defects using digital tablets.
  • To liaise effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including notification of unauthorised use of hydrants.
  • To be responsible for the safe removal and disposal of hazardous and nonhazardous materials from hydrant pits.


1.8 Undertake tasks in line with specific key work objectives that have been set by the Equipment & Water Administration Officer.
