Salary:
Up to £50,000 depending on experience


What you'll be doing:


  • Responsible for the delivery to Naval Ships the quarterly EAC (Estimate at Completion) reviews (circa £150m)
  • Ensures that meaningful output/achievement tracking metrics are established and maintained by the Control Account Management to assure the integrity of the progress data used for Earned Value Management
  • Development of Project Management artefacts (Support Management Plan) for the CSC (Canadian Surface Combatant) Implementation Phase bid (£50m)
  • Management of the governance process for both Type 26 and Export
  • To lead a member/s of professional staff, being responsible for managing their delivery and performance and providing support to their appraisal and development

Your skills and experiences:


Essential:


  • Broad Project Management & Controls (PM&C) experience demonstrated in a professional capacity within a significant business or project
  • Proficient in various PM&C tools techniques, such as Microsoft Project, Excel and Earned Value Management
  • Good communication skills both written and verbally with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at various levels
  • Knowledge and experience of PM&C governance and assurance processes such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and Baseline Change Requests (BCRs)

Desirable:


  • Project Management qualifications for example APM or Prince2

The Type 26 Support team:


With our international programmes and core support to the Ministry of Defence, our highly skilled teams design, develop, support and maintain a wide range of complex equipment within Maritime Services.


The team sits within Type 26 Support Programme, and you will be responsible for the daily project control activities, reporting to the Type 26 Support Programme and Governance Manager.

You will be operating with a complex set of programme tools and techniques, providing the project management services across a team of 100 Engineers.

The current budget contract cover for support is £250mil.


This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a long-term project with numerous opportunities in the pipeline.
