job specification Head of Finance (Financial

Head of Finance (Financial Strategy):

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment to lead our corporate finance function.

At the heart of the Council's finances, you will help secure the long-term financial stability and sustainability of the Council, advising the Council's executive leadership on its strategic financial planning.

As a key member of the Council's management, you will be responsible for producing the annual revenue and capital budgets, along with in-year reporting and forecasting.

You will manage several teams including those responsible for treasury, taxation, and corporate reporting.

It will be no surprise that you will be experienced in finance. You will have a proven track record of providing professional financial advice in local government. You will also have excellent leadership skills and behaviours, along with leading with confidence and integrity. This role may be that opportunity to take that next step in your professional career. The previous postholder has gone on to become the Director of Finance.

What we can offer you

As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve the lives of those living and working in Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance.

You'll enjoy generous annual leave, pension contributions from the Council as a member of the local government pension scheme and the option of flexible working.

We will give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise through training and development.

In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including childcare vouchers, discounts on city buses and trains, and help with relocation to Leicester, where appropriate.

Those who excel in the role will have ample opportunities to take on new challenges.
