    Contract - Fixed Term 12 months

    The Community Stroke Rehab team in Enfield are looking for an enthusiastic and stroke specialist Physio to join the team. The team are based at St Michael's Primary care centre with ease of parking for staff and access to Enfield Borough. It is in close proximity to the M25 and has good transport links to Herts and central Community Stroke Rehab Team provides stroke specialist rehabilitation for Enfield residents aged 18+. Care is provided in patient's home and local communities dependent on their functional goals. It is a friendly multidisciplinary team with generic rehabilitation assistants to support patients to carry out treatment plans set by the therapists. We work closely with adult community therapies who are also located within St Michael' is planned expansion of the team , following investment into Enfield Community Therapies Services to include neuro psychology provision and psychology assistant support. The team has been part of a NCL wide funded NHSe project which is nationally leading on new models of rehab and stroke care.

    Main duties of the job

    To provide a very high standard of Physiotherapy care to stroke survivors and their carers/family in a community setting, meeting the needs of the multicultural and diverse population.

    Together with other senior staff, to act as a resource for specialist advice to the rest of the stroke community rehabilitation service (CSRT), therapy services, and others within wider multidisciplinary services.

This includes health visitors and school nurses who are delivering the national Healthy Child Programme, which provides a structured framework for the delivery of key interventions to support the health and wellbeing of children and families from 0 to 5 and school aged children from 5-19. The 0-19 service aims to improve pathways and partnerships with services in the hospital and deliver excellent care for the children and families.

  • Recognised Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Evidence from portfolio of ongoing relevant post-graduate training both theoretical and practical to a high level.
  • Desirable

  • Post-graduation/Msc in relevant area (elderly care /neurology)
  • Membership of professional body or interest group.
  • Leadership training
  • Any other relevant training & education
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Experience at band 7 level or significant experience at band 6 level/equivalent in adult neurology, especially stroke care.
  • Demonstrate appropriate postgraduate experience working across Physiotherapy core areas to support the rehabilitation needs of the patient.
  • Experience of working as part of MDT team in the NHS, goal planning and developing care plan.
  • Active contribution to training others
  • Experience of working in community services
  • Physiotherapy practice relating to the delivery of stroke care services.

  • Knowledge of stroke pathway and North central London partnership working
  • Skills

    Essential

  • Fluent in written and spoken English including the ability to generate letters and reports of a high caliber
  • Advanced clinical reasoning and problem solving skills within stroke care and other relevant clinical areas
