Contract to start on until with a possible extension.Job Purpose
The post holder will ensure the safe delivery of Adult Social Care services, including provision of safe and effective directly delivered services during a period of significant change; ensuring that services registered with the Care Quality Commission meet fundamental standards and achieve a Good to Outstanding rating; engage in partnership working and lead on joint initiatives with the statutory and voluntary partners.
You will lead on the re-design of directly provided services and management of the change resources associated with this, closely working with commissioning to ensure the in-house offer forms part of a strategic approach to social care in Rotherham.
This role is responsible for holding teams and performance to account, including having clear oversight of activity taking place within aligned service areas.
This role is also required to have a key leadership role in the integration of health and social care services in Rotherham, including managing and directing resources within the Client and with partners in the NHS and third sectors as appropriate.
Key Duties/Areas of Responsibility
Delivery of high level advice, guidance and support in a specialist area which significantly influences, either directly or indirectly, the trust and confidence of the community and/or Client.
Develop a customer-focused service that is responsive and flexible with regard to a variety of internal customer needs and delivered to a high standard.
Lead and develop a range of specialist professionals (including officers at PO16/18) and associated service support activity
Assess political pressures and agendas on service delivery and tailor plans/activity accordingly whilst ensuring appropriate challenge is made and governance adhered to
Pursue best practice and value for money within the Service through the establishment of effective systems of governance and accountability, target setting, performance management and procurement
Plan, initiate, manage and implement major change initiatives in service delivery which may have a significant impact on either customers, employees or systems ensuring effective risk management and review of subsequent outcomes
Develop and foster effective relationships with external stakeholders, partners and agencies, representing and promoting the Borough's interests with these groups
Ensure sufficient resources available to deliver service priorities through effective workforce planning including recruitment and selection, retention, talent management and succession planning.
