If so, we have the opportunity for an ambitious
Assistant Product Developer to join our Craghoppers Product Development team and kick start their career in product development.


The Impact you will have in this role is:

  • Accurate and detailed specifications are created with guidance and knowledge of other team members, updating as necessary through from proto to salesman samples and/or approval to bulk production
  • Knowledge on fit is gained by reviewing all samples with Senior Product Developer, amending as guided when necessary
  • Corporate calendar dates are relevant to product, eg samples at all stages being received and comments made / fabric & trim approval etc completed in line with critical path deadlines
  • Factories and designers are liaised with, creating clear and concise sample comments to ensure all changes are understood and actioned by the factories with guidance from other team members
  • Knowledge of product construction & awareness of new fabric/trim developments
  • Target monitors and critical paths are kept up to date throughout the season
  • All style files are kept up to date and in line with trading standards
  • The need to maintain Grade 1 QC standard is understood
  • Suppliers AQL's are reviewed and permission to ship letters are issued, with the addition of certificates of conformity for USA orders as guided by other team members
  • An understanding of QI results is gained
  • Shop visits are undertaken to look at construction and quality
  • Customer service / sales queries are resolved in a timely manner, ensuring awareness of any customer complaints
  • The need for good communication with the goods in warehouse to raise any issues in a timely manner is understood
  • Testing is arranged as requested by the Technical Manager or other senior members of the team
  • Feedback on factories is given so that the Gold/Silver/Bronze can be completed
  • Accurate comparisons between Men's, Women's and styles on given product area are completed
  • FC labels are generated and approved
  • Seasonal housekeeping is carried out to ensure that samples / paperwork are archived and electronic data is accurate / up to date
  • Range launch is prepared

As our future Assistant Product Developer, you will:

  • Have a relevant qualification in clothing technology/design
  • Ideally, have work experience within a product development role, this can be from a university placement
  • Ideally, have some knowledge of 3D design, pattern cutting, construction and manufacturing techniques
  • Be organised, accurate and have good attention to detail
  • Have the ability to work in a fastpaced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Be computer literate, with a knowledge of Adobe illustrator
