Main Purpose
To take a leading role in supervising a workforce responsible for the day to day operations.

Maximising participation and engagement, through consultation and insight, within a targeted

demographic, supporting identified areas for growth and implementing community development

practices and principles across the Aura Company. To be responsible for modelling and reinforcing

the company's values, desired culture and service expectations.


Main Duties and Accountabilities

Management

1. To have day to day responsibility for the supervision of a team of workforce across a wide

range of remote locations.


2. To ensure that all staff are fully compliant with all health and safety regulations within their

own areas of work, monitoring risk assessments and operating procedures, and

implementing action plans as and when needed to ensure the health and safety of all staff

and customers.


3. To ensure that staffing levels are maintained, appraisals, supervision and mentoring are

completed, staff development plans and all aspects of recruitment are carried out and that

work areas have succession plans to minimise disruption of temporary and fixed term staff.


4. Effective management of relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.


5. Financial monitoring of designated programme budgets including compliance with

procurement and financial regulations and supporting reporting against such budgets.


6. Support for the business planning and production of quarterly board reports and monitoring

reports for Sports Development and Actif North Wales.


Development

7. To lead on the development of the place making approach leading to increased activity in

targeted communities identified (including identifying opportunities, map existing provision,

planning and formulating programmes, promotion and social media, consulting and

engaging and evaluating / identifying best practice to meet the community needs

(communities identified but not limited to);

  • Buckley
  • Holywell
  • Shotton

8. Identify and ensure implementation of marketing and promotion requirements to increase

and/or raise awareness of local participation opportunities, ensuring brand standards and

guidelines are met, working with business improvement, Actif North Wales and marketing

colleagues.


9. To work in collaboration with diverse and numerous identified partners and stakeholders

(internally & externally) with the aim of increasing participation within identified

communities providing a quality experience.


10. To be responsible for the review of the Actif North Wales Place Making Approach, ensuring it

is fit for purpose, is maximising participation opportunities, is equitable across the County,

and meets the needs of the local community and customers, identified through insight,

collaboration and consultation.


11. To develop viable plans for new and innovative programmes ensuring they are researched

thoroughly, data driven, financially modelled, planned effectively and contribute to funders

and company values and expectations, as identified through the strategic plan, and/or

relevant insight.


12. To lead on the implementation of participation and community engagement (including

identifying further opportunities, planning, and implementing packages to meet customer

needs) including (but not limited to);***- Development of bespoke club, community and schools events

  • Development of community events working in partnership across the whole
system.


13. Ensure implementation of marketing requirements to increase participation, ensuring brand

standards and guidelines are met, working with business improvement and marketing

colleagues both internally and externally.


14. To work in collaboration with diverse and numerous partners and stakeholders (internally &
externally) with the aim of increasing participation, funding when appropriate.


15. To provide technical expertise in the development of viable business / development plans

for new and innovative programmes ensuring they reflect current data and trends, are

financially modelled, and planned effectively


16. To work with people in the targeted and identified communities including those who are

most disadvantaged, ensuring that delivery is appropriate in terms of activity, time, price

and staff and that those supporting the sessions are appropriately trained in youth work

principles when needed.


17. To take the lead on the inputting of data from this project and others through Upshot to

ensure effective monitoring and reporting of the programmes to internal and external

stakeholders.


18. To support the development of mechanisms which effectively and consistently collect insight
