THIS POST IS SECONDMENT/fFIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO MEETING THE NEEDS OF SERVICE.
We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Primary Care team and assist in our efforts to enhance the management of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) within Swansea Bay. We are looking for a motivated individual who is team-oriented and shares our passion for improving patient care.
You will be need to be an experienced pharmacy technician, with a relevant pharmaceutical qualification and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). You will also need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated and well organised.
You will be joining an innovative and friendly pharmacy team, where there will be many opportunities to develop and expand the skills you will bring with you and full training will be provided. Your main base will be within the medicines management office located in the grounds of Neath Port Talbot hospital but you will be required to visit GP practices as needed.
Main duties of the job
This innovative role will give you the opportunity to gain specialised knowledge in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). With the guidance of a specialist renal pharmacist, you will operate within your professional scope to conduct medication reviews, clinically evaluate patient blood pressure, interpret blood test results, and encourage healthy lifestyles. Your responsibilities will also involve conducting clinical audits and participating in the development of protocols and standard operating procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
