    Job summary

    Does wee and poo float your boat? If so, you may be the person we are looking for to help develop andexpand our Tier 2 Community Children's Specialist Continence Service workingacross Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeableregistered nurse with experience in managing children's continence and withexcellent communication and team working skills.

    Main duties of the job

  • To assess, plan, implement and review continence treatment programmes and products for children and young people in a variety of community settings at Tier 2 level.
  • To provide continence advice and management to parents, carers and those who work with children and young people with continence issues, through clinical practice, teaching, research and development, as part of an integrated team.
  • To be responsible for continuing the on-going development of high standards of clinical practice and expertise within the service contributing to implementation of specific changes to practice and service protocols and making a professional contribution to the work of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Previous experience in continence management and care
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Registered Nurse Level 1
  • Evidence of continuing professional development within the last 12 months
  • Hold/be working towards an NMC approved mentoring qualification or have a planned start date for this
  • Desirable

  • Six months post registration
  • Demonstrates a strong interest in providing patient centre nursing care and patient education
  • Previous experience in continence management and care
  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and potential ability to work without direct supervision, problem solve and prioritise own work
  • Able to make judgements based on evidence based practice and translate this for this for use in the community
