We are looking for a person to join our friendly and passionate Environment Mitigation Delivery Team at Dorset Council to provide a support for the officers within the team
.
The EMDT Support Officer, as part of the EMD team, is a new full time role and will provide administrative support for EMD team members in support of their project mitigation delivery and EMDT's core work.
Working closely with the Officers within the team, the role will also involve liaison with a range of teams in Dorset and BCP Council's and with external partners.
Examples of the work involved include:
- Arrange, attend the different mitigation delivery steering groups/ partnership meetings/ workshops, take and type up notes
- Help with the design and distribution of materials relating to the communication of the different projects that is carried out in the team
- Source/book venues/meeting rooms for meetings and engagement events
- Set up filing for different projects
- Upload invoices on to the Dorset Council online portal for payment
The Environment Mitigation Delivery Team is currently made up of The Environment Mitigation Delivery Team Leader (who coordinates Chesil and the Fleet Mitigation & the Bird and Recreation Initiative) the Bird and Recreation Initiative warden, an Air Quality delivery Officer and Senior Nutrient Mitigation Project Officer.
This post is full time (37 hours per week) fixed-term contract for initially three years.
60% of the role will be providing administration, support to the Nutrient mitigation function within the team as it has just been awarded £4.63M funding to deliver nutrient mitigation within the Poole Harbour catchment.
About you:
You will be a supportive team member who is effective at multi-tasking as the work changes daily depending on the type of projects the team are undertaking.
You will be a great organiser, be used to taking notes at meetings, have good knowledge and experience of using excel, be able to work in word and PowerPoint.
Be comfortable with working independently as well as part of a team, and able to communicate clearly and provide a supportive team approach.
An interest in the environment would be an advantage.
You will need to have a flexible approach to work, traveling to meetings/events, working in the office (twice a week) and at home together with working occasional evening and/or weekend meetings if required.
You must have a vehicle (or transport we deem suitable) available for use as needed.
