Finance Business Partner | Derby | £40,000 - £45,000


Macildowie Finance is currently working on a position offering the opportunity to work for a
well established businessbased in Derby to
work across the Commercial, HSSE and Finance & Procurement teams.


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced
Finance Business Partner to join the Finance team in a varied role which takes control of the
financial processes for a number of areas within the business.

This role within the team will report to the Finance Manager and assist with delivering the day to day accounting responsibilities including the ensuring there is an appropriatelevel of financial reporting and analysis to effectively manage the financial aspects of the business.


The finance team will be playing an active part in leading and supporting the company in achieving its business objectives and revenue targets by providing key financial insight and control; whilst driving improvements to the operation and financial processes.


So what is the job?

  • Be the single point of contact for all finance matters, working closely with the business to provide
    financial support and guidance.
Be the financial voice for all
profit and loss (P&L) and Capital Expenditure (Capex):

Lead the preparation and compilation of comprehensive budgets and forecasts (P&L and Capex) ready for inclusion in company level financial models.

  • Actively take part in
    preparation of variance analysis and writing narratives to support plans.
  • Lead in the
    production of period end management accounting tasks, including the integrity.
  • Identifying and reporting all risk and opportunities.
  • Prepare
    fully comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, including supporting documentation
  • Prepare
    management reporting of financial information with all budget owners, have regular financial performance review meetings
  • Take the
    financial lead on business cases from initiation support through to post investment
  • All
    half year and year end accounting activities, providing support for internal and external audits and working closely with Senior Finance team
  • Develop
    financial reporting and analysisthat facilitates effective decision making activity
  • Partner effectively with the Shared Service Centre (SSC), dealing with any queries and providing financial accounting support
  • Aid the Senior Finance team, as required, in understanding the business risks, opportunities and sensitivities.

What are you like?

  • Qualified
    CIMA/ACCA/ACA, PQ or Finalist:

  • Experience in a Business Partnering (or similar) role and be used to working closely with non-finance teams:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to Business Partner with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail, accurate and diligent
  • High degree of integrity
  • Takes personal responsibility to deliver to tight timescales with a disciplined attention to detail
