    Job overview

The East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) has the opportunity for suitable candidates to join us on a development opportunity as an Education Manager – Academic Practice. This is an emergent role within the Strategy, Culture and Education Directorate as we look to develop a talent pool of future specialist leaders. This is an exciting time to join us, as we are enhancing our holistic education and development methodology for our existing staff and future workforce.

Please note, the vision is for 4 opportunities across a 12-week development / secondment period each. The 4 periods will run consecutively where each is a 1wte role. It is envisioned that successful candidates will have the flexibility to dovetail each other accordingly over the year. Each 12-week development opportunity is alongside an established peer group and covers the entire East of England region, Trust-wide.

    Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced clinician, leader and educator who is passionate about improving our service and processes. This specifically relates to capacity, capability and an effective, quality, safe and progressive educational provision for both pre- and post-registration learners and experienced clinicians. The successful candidate will take the lead for academic practice across education provisions at EEAST and specifically within the core training environment. This includes accountability for training programmes across multiple academic pathways and managing all associated implementation, utilisation, delivery, and operational transition mechanisms Trust wide.

    Working for our organisation

The post holder will lead a regional team of lecturer, coordination and educational specialists in delivering improvements to the learner and core training experience. They will ensure all learners, Lecturer Practitioners, Specialist Lecturer Practitioners, and Coordinators have access to extensive and equitable support and guidance Trust-wide. This role will be a key enabler of robust quality assurance strategy and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure regulatory frameworks are embedded within related programmes.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

There will be close partnership with the other Education Managers to deliver the educational provision and monitor related key performance indicators for this portfolio – ultimately providing assurance to the Deputies, Head of Department and wider Directorate team as a subject matter expert. As detailed extensively in the JD and PS sections, this position will require travel, autonomy, and close liaison with systems and strategic partners across the Trust landscape in support of the greater organisational objectives.
