MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious engineering client, based in County Durham, with their plans for growth and expansion, by recruiting a permanent Maintenance Technician to join their team.
They will be soon entering a period ofsustained growth and expansion as they widen their customer portfolio, with a significant number of blue-chip orders for many years into the future.

The Job You'll Do;
- Carryout faultfinding activities and undertake timely repair of equipment in the following areas: Power presses (Manual & Progression) Robotics, PLC's, Electrical Control Systems, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance activities on manual & automated production facilities.
- Fault diagnosis, servicing and repair of various Presses, robots, rotary positioners and Mig spot welding equipment.
- Prepare technical reports to analyse breakdown causes and make recommendations on countermeasures.
- Support equipment commissioning and installation projects
- Ensure strict adherence to safe working practices and observe safety rules at all times.
- Always looking for improvements in the process.
- This position will involve shift working, call outs and overtime working at short notice.
About You;
- Have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship within a similar environment/industry.
- Educated to at least ONC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably on a multiskilled basis.
- Have multiskilled maintenance experience with automated facilities with specific experience in fault finding.
- Have experience in welding technology and if possible, the maintenance of welding equipment.
- Possess a good electrical / mechanical knowledge of Power Presses (Manual & Progression)and other special purpose machines, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Good communicator and in particular able to produce technical reports.
- Flexible, team orientated and selfmotivated approach to work.
- Understanding of Health & Safety law, Quality systems & environmental legislation.
