Location:
Portsmouth - possibly on site 1-2 days per week - however, we offer a range of flexible working arrangements
Salary:
Up to £44,000 depending on experience
What you'll be doing:
- Deliver effective customer and supplier relationship management maintaining strong and effective relationships and building new ones for tactical and strategic bid opportunities
- Developing and managing relationships with current and new suppliers, building brand and business opportunities whilst building an excellent understanding of the industry to identify partnering solutions
- Analysing and reporting on supplier initiatives, communicating needs and identifying opportunities for partnering in order to support the development of bids and proposals
- Determining and executing sourcing strategies within allocated category, including leading price and contractual negotiations
- Leading supplier approval and on boarding process in collaboration with supporting functions
- Undertaking assessments of suppliers to determine capability, capacity and suitability for new requirements
- Adhering to Supply Chain/Supplier governance such as supplier accreditations and export controls
- Foster a proactive relationship across multiple disciplines, businesses and within the customer base
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- The role requires broad Supply Chain knowledge & expertise, including good business, market and competitor knowledge, as well as, depth of vision and creativity; plus, an ability to develop Supply Chain strategy to support business objectives
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to create and negotiate terms and conditions
- The ability to utilise and interpret financial data and performance measures
- Supply Chain functional people, process and performance knowledge to develop the function using enabling technologies to exceed or meet the corporate business objectives.
- Working understanding of tool sets and IT
Desirable:
- Previous experience working on new bids and proposals
- MCIPS or working towards MCIPS
- Previous experience working within a regulated environment such as defence, engineering, oil and gas, construction
- Some Engineering knowledge (electromechanical) would be advantageous, but is not essential

The UK Equipment Management team:
This is an exciting role within the UK Equipment Management team for Warship Support at our site in Portsmouth.
As a Supply Chain Principal, you will be responsible for the production of Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) and Invitation to Tender/Negotiate (ITT/ITN).
Plus, analysis of the supply chain associated with various bid opportunities to identify key suppliers and build relationships accordingly.
This role will be supporting the Service Delivery Manager - Bids to achieve the overall order intake across the 10 year integrated business plan.
