Role
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure commercial quotations and technical submissions are on time, accurate and commercially sound to maximise our ability to become the preferred supplier and convert to order.
- Develop and maintain improved communication within the wider Business Operations Team
- Identify and process Special or QA product requirements and support the wider Operations Teams technical needs.
- Update, and take ownership of project folders, ensuring project history and communications are captured.
- Confidently discuss information of a technical nature with customers, to ensure a comprehensive and a suitable selection is provided, to maximise our opportunity to become the preferred supplier with specifiers and contractors therefore securing the order.
- Ensure that designs produced are compliant with current legislation/regulations and industry best practice, as outlined under Building Regulations Parts L&F and building safety regulations.
- Contribute to team continuous improvement initiatives that support process, performance, and customer service development.
- Support customers and colleagues in the timely resolution of technical enquiries, escalating queries that cannot be resolved through day to day means, utilising other departmental resources and suppliers.
- Provide excellent customer service to colleagues and customers alike.
- Provide technical support to the external sales teams and facilitate project progression by attending project meetings on site or via Teams.

Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):
Essential:
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of engineering principles, contractual principles, and methods of working.
- Excellent analytical skills, problemsolving skills, and attention to detail.
- An advanced level of numeracy skills.
- Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills.
- Positive 'cando' demeanour with a desire to continually develop and progress.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software and willingness to learn business specific software systems.
Desirable:
- A mechanical/ electrical or building services engineering qualification e.g., HNC /HND or equivalent.
- Or a mathematical or science based advanced qualification.
- Experience of interpreting information of a technical nature, ideally building specifications & drawings.
- Use of estimating selection software preferred, but not essential as training will be offered.
- A technical, mechanical or electrical background.
- Previous experience in the ventilation, construction, building services industry, or similar technical role.
- Good working knowledge and experience gained in a technical role, ideally within the Building Services sector with a Commercial Focus.
