The tunnelling team is part of the Ground Engineering and Tunnelling (GE&T) Practice.Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help us develop and expand our tunnelling capability.
We want to build on the existing portfolio of our rapidly expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.
A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent).Chartered status or close to submitting chartership in civil or structural engineering.
Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead tunnelling design teams.
Proven post-graduation experience, with a significant proportion gained with an engineering design company undertaking the design of tunnels or related infrastructure.
Knowledge of advanced constitutive soil models and experience of numerical modelling software (FLAC or PLAXIS). Knowledge of advanced structural analysis and experience of numerical modelling software (Robot or STAAD). Use in relation to BIM-integrated workflows to exchange data with Revit would be a benefit.Good commercial track record in negotiating and running successful jobs.
Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
A willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas.

We provide support to Clients throughout the project life cycle, from the planning and feasibility stages through to commissioning, operation, refurbishment and upgrade of tunnel infrastructure.
