    Principal Highways Design Engineer

    Location:
    South West London/Hybrid


    Hourly Rate:
    £39.65 (Umbrella)

    A London Local Authority is recruiting for a Principal Highways Design Engineer.

    As a Principal Highways Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the effective delivery of capital programs and reactive maintenance services.

    With increased budgets secured from TfL and the DfT, this is an exciting time to contribute.


    Responsibilities:


    Lead and mentor a team of highways design professionals, providing guidance on problem-solving and technical challenges encountered during program implementation.

    Act as the Project Manager for large, complex, and multi-disciplined projects, including consultation, programming, planning, and coordination.

    Coordinate and prioritise work, establish work programs and schedules, ensuring their achievement, and provide technical guidance and training as necessary.

    Manage financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, financing arrangements, and meeting program and time requirements.
    Oversee contract management and administration, with direct experience in NEC contracts.
    Attend committee and public meetings, advising customers and elected Members on Highways and Transport matters.

    Requirements:
    Proven experience in managing highways and transport projects and/or programs.
    Demonstrated proficiency in financial management and associated systems and processes, including managing large capital and revenue budgets.
    Experience in contract management and administration, particularly with NEC contracts.
    Ability to attend and contribute to committee and public meetings, providing expert advice on Highways and Transport matters.

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
    Extensive experience in the highways and transport sector, with a focus on project management and delivery
