As a Barclays Fixed Income Strategy Specialist, you will be part of the investment strategy team acting as the fixed income specialist for all Private Bank locations globally.

You will establish and maintain fit-for-purpose Fixed Income modules, conviction lists and a broader universe of single line bonds covering the major fixed income segment and currencies e.g.

investment grade, sovereigns, high yield, subordinated and emerging market bonds.

What will you be doing?

Delivering fit for purpose fixed income modules (lists/models) and conviction ideas for the usage within the global advisory services and among local fixed income specialists
Establishing and maintaining investment rationales, key analytical credit metrics and write ups
Creating and leading a broader fixed income advisory list of single bonds using an approved process which may involve close collaboration with risk and compliance teams
Creating and maintaining views and thematic and tactical ideas covering the major Fixed Income sub asset classes
Presenting on fixed income to internal stakeholders during Private Bank Investment meetings which can involve investment committee meetings
Participating in client meetings to talk about fixed income markets, the bank's view and ideas around fixed income
Ensuring adequate controls are in place to minimise/mitigate operational risk involved in the delivery of the respective fixed income content
Designing and implementing effective systems of control as and when required

What we're looking for:

Deep knowledge about fixed income credit, rate market fundamentals and macroeconomic dynamics, as well as knowledge of the bond features of the major bond segments
Excellent analytical skills and experience selecting fixed income opportunities (single line bonds and segments) within an asset management or Private Bank set up
Research experience (single line bonds and markets) within a buy side or sell side environment and /or experience within Fixed Income portfolio management
Excellent communication skills with proven record of presenting in front of various audiences (internal stakeholders and external clients)

Skills that will help you in the role:

Experience in engaging with various Private Bank client types within the industry (e.g. retail, UHNW, family office)
The ability to explain investment topics in simple and comprehendible terms that will engage colleagues and clients
Being a team player with drive to deliver results and with the ability to work in matrix organisations
Either MBA, CFA Charter holder or both
