    Description

    Due to promotion an opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 5 Radiographer/Clinical Technologist to join the existing Nuclear Medicine team of 15.This is an interesting and varied role providing support to the day-to-day operations of the Nuclear Medicine imaging departments and to the Radiopharmacy.


    There is an in-house Radiopharmacy used for the daily manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals, which is operated jointly with the Pharmacy department, and we also carry out Nuclear Medicine Therapies.

    This post is primarily to support the upgraded Gloucester site, yet flexibility and travel between the sites will be required.


    Applications are welcomed from candidates with a Nuclear Medicine or Medical Physics background who possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

    Nuclear Medicine is one of four departments within the Medical Physics department and there are strong links and support provided by the other Heads of Department and their respective staff.

    The Medical Physics Department is a strong advocate for staff training and development and is an accredited training center for the NSHCS STP & HSST training schemes as well as the IPEM Clinical Technologist training scheme.

    For Clinical Technologists, after a 3-year qualifying time and completion of a Portfolio, they should be eligible for inclusion on the Voluntary Register of Clinical Technologists.

    Time to obtain the aforementioned qualifications normally 3 years of training.

    Detailed evidence of ongoing professional development by maintaining a portfolio.

    Work Experience to achieve qualification, substantial training experience

    Work Experience in Nuclear Medicine

    Evidence of ongoing Professional Development

    Use of the Word, Excel, Trak, EPR, PAS and CRIS systems
