Description

The Governance and Corporate Affairs Support Officer will support the Governance and Corporate Affairs Team providing an efficient service and liaising with colleagues throughout the Integrated Care Board and wider Integrated Care System.


The post holder will collate, assimilate and interpret information to assist the team in providing the Governance and Corporate Affairs function which includes risk management, information governance, and supporting the ICB's Board and committees.


The post holder will support the team in the implementation of policies, procedures, systems and strategies to support robust corporate governance and support the Governance and Corporate Affairs Managers on specific governance-related projects.


Duties undertaken by the postholder will be a mixture of straight-forward administrative tasks and more complex work which will be undertaken with the support of more senior colleagues in the team.

Support the Governance and Corporate Affairs Team to help ensure that the organisation fulfils statutory responsibilities such as compliance with the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.


Support the team to gather and collate evidence for completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit including Information Asset Registers.

Log and report Information Governance Incidents.


Ensure that Conflicts of Interest Declarations are kept up to date and provided to the relevant committees in line with the meeting schedule, supporting the production of reports on compliance.

Maintain the register of Gifts and Hospitality and supporting the production of reports.


Act as a point of contact for the team, dealing with routine and specialist enquiries in a welcoming and helpful manner, communicating relevant information to stakeholders, referring to others as appropriate.

Support the team to ensure the process for maintaining and reviewing policies is followed.

Ensure standard operating procedures are followed and maintained, and where necessary training members within their team on these procedures.

Ensure effective and timely collation and preparation of relevant documentation in support of service delivery.

Able to work on own initiative and unsupervised, within defined policies and procedures to set timescales.

To ensure compliance with own statutory and mandatory training.

Have a flexible/adaptable approach to their work in order to meet various deadlines.

Support the Governance and Corporate Affairs Team with administrative tasks such as organising meetings or other duties as required.

Build and maintain good relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels of seniority across the ICB.

Organise and prioritise own day to day work tasks or activities in accordance with prioritised workloads. Make or in some cases suggest and agree with their line manager necessary adjustments to tasks/activities.


Working in a busy environment the post holder will need to be adaptable and have the ability to cope with and respond to sudden unexpected service demands.

Attend team meetings as required and contribute towards effective team working.


Build and maintain good relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff across the ICB and other organisations that may hold a contract with the service.

Carry out general administrative duties, including diary management, scanning, photocopying, filing, binding and collating of highly confidential documents. To be available to cover other administrative tasks when required.

Manage sensitive and personal information while maintaining high Information Governance standards.
