Description
Corvus People are partnering with an ambitious and continuously expanding Main Contractor that undertakes Construction, Fit Out, and Manufacturing ventures across the UK and Ireland, to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their team.

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this role assumes the responsibility of producing detailed cost estimates and tenders, from the initial inquiry stage to tender submission.
Duties:
- Review tender documentation thoroughly.
- Research costs of materials, equipment, and labour.
- Gather quotations from material suppliers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with the Commercial Director to establish project overhead costs, offer insights into tendering prospects, and share tender outcomes and placements.
- Develop comprehensive analytical estimates for assigned projects.
- Explore potential value engineering alternatives.
- Plan project timelines and evaluate project risks.
- Collaborate and aid in the selection of subcontractors and laboronly subcontractors under designated subcontract conditions.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of tender performances.
- Assist in managing cost feedback data for future tender processes.
- Participate in relevant meetings and site visits.
- Prepare tender settlement documents to meet project deadlines and for finalization in conjunction with the Commercial Director.
- Supervise the organization and archiving of all relevant documents.
- Ensure precision and currency of records and paperwork.
- Embrace a Continuous Improvement approach to enhance processes and methodologies.
Person Specifications:
Essential
- Recent and pertinent estimating experience in a similar capacity within the construction/fit out sector.
- Familiarity with working in a dynamic and fastpaced environment.
- Proficiency in IT, particularly in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Estimating software.
- Strong grasp of Commercial Awareness.
- Experience in handling and resolving contractual matters based on standard contract forms like NEC, JCT, and FIDIC.
- Solid understanding of contract documents, construction practices, and techniques. Exceptional attention to detail.
- Capability to work proficiently both independently and within a team setting.
Desirable
- Tertiary qualification in Surveying or a related field.
- Exposure to crafting PQQ, Bid, and Tender submissions.
- Familiarity with etendering processes.
