    Description

    Primary School Teaching Assistant

    Location: HarlowJob Duties:

    • Assist the primary school teacher in delivering lessons and providing support to students.
    • Supervise students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
    • Help with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
    • Provide individual or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
    • Assist in managing student behaviour and maintaining discipline.
    • Support students with special educational needs or disabilities, following guidance from the teacher.
    • Monitor and record students' progress and report any concerns to the teacher.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Must have a minimum of a GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Patience and the ability to work effectively with young children.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Basic knowledge of educational practises and effective classroom management techniques.
    • Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of students.
    • Proficiency in using common computer software and technology.
    • Valid driving licence to enable you to commute to a wide range of schools (preferred).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Additional qualifications in child development or education-related fields.
    • Qualifications with transferable skills

    Working Conditions:

    • Work primarily takes place within a primary school setting.
    • Typical working hours follow the school schedule, Monday to Friday, typically 8:30am to 3:30pm.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
