This is an exciting opportunity for a cohort of 10 to join our Trainee Building Control Surveyor Apprenticeship.

What you'll be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Trainee Building Control Surveyor Apprenticeship programme with 10 available placements.
Our programme will provide the necessary tools and resources for your learning and development, you'll also be assigned an NHBC mentor who will share their wealth of knowledge and experience to support you.
This is a home-based role, with initial 6 months of training starting with the NHBC in April 2023, and thereafter the Degree programme starting with the University of Wolverhampton in September 2023, where attendance is required in person on specific dates that will be provided.
Training will be combined across multiple platforms.- the NHBC Academy training, Head Office Milton Keynes (requiring attendance)
- on-the-job training with an experienced peer group (joining an experienced team)
- online remote learning (home-based independent learning)
- mandatory University attendance each quarter of the year. Consisting of three to five days of learning, facilitating the apprenticeship course (dates will be provided)
The NHBC Academy has been designed to provide industry-leading training where you will obtain the highest competency skills in NHBC Knowledge, Standards and Building regulations.
- good IT literacy with the ability to use a range of software programs.
- demonstrable, organisational and planning skills to support own learning, remote working balanced with on-the-job learning and University attendance.
- the ability to absorb training, new learning and demonstrate good knowledge and expertise in your role throughout the course.
- self-motivated to attain your degree with the commitment to see it through to the end of the program, obtaining a Chartership and permanent employment at NHBC as a Chartered Building Surveyor after four years.
- a positive attitude with the ability to work with limited supervision and to take pride in their role.
Education and Qualifications
- minimum requirement of GCSE Maths and English or equivalent Diploma. It would be advantageous to have a qualification gained in further education or a keen interest in the construction field with some knowledge.
- appealing to individuals who are considering a change in career, or those who are currently working in the construction industry that is looking for training and wanting to obtain a recognised degree qualification.
- good level of English language and communication skills.
- Must have Right to Work and Eligibility to Work in the UK (documentation will be requested and checked before offering an interview).
