This role could be based in either our Wythall or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

Salary and benefits:

The role


As a Lead Project Actuary you will lead workstreams within large change projects / lead small to medium actuarial projects within the Actuarial Reporting and Change area.

Situated in the Actuarial Reporting Projects Team and reporting to one of the Senior Project Actuaries, the successful applicant will undertake an interesting and varied range of work supporting the delivery of business and regulatory change within the models, systems and processes operated by Actuarial Reporting and Change

You will work collaboratively with colleagues and senior stakeholders across a wide range of teams in Phoenix to provide vital insight to support strategic decision-making.

You will work collaboratively with various change projects, both at the mobilisation stage to support projects in setting up scope and delivery plans, all the way through to the delivery stage and Business Readiness activity.


What are we looking for?


We are looking for a qualified actuary with varied experience in actuarial reporting and change, or other life actuarial disciplines with a strong track-record of delivery in a commercial environment.


Knowledge of financial reporting metrics, including SII and IFRS is highly desirable, as is experience of reporting on those metrics are highly desirable.

Experience delivering consistent quality work within fixed and often tight deadlines is also highly relevant to the role.


Someone who is keen to learn quickly in a changing environment having a strong appetite for change and experience of driving continuous improvement will fit well with the role.


You will have an ability to build strong relationships and drive action through influence and collaboration across boundaries, combined with experience and ability to influence and communicate effectively with a variety of colleagues and senior stakeholders from different disciplines across the business.
