**Summary
The Project and Research Officer supports all activities of the Bakhita Centre.

This may include coordinating and supporting the delivery of research and public engagement projects; supporting academic research activities; managing the Bakhita Centre's newsletter, social media and website, and general administration tasks associated with the work of the Centre.

The post-holder will help to coordinate internal events and meetings with Centre staff, affiliates and Honorary Fellows, and will also contribute to the delivery of Horizons Summer School for survivors of modern slavery.


Job Details
Post-holder must have knowledge of issues related to modern slavery/human trafficking in the UK and/or internationally.

Experience working with relevant stakeholders, such as non-governmental organisations and/or policymakers, and experience in project management and communications is also necessary.


Main tasks

  • Providing administrative and management support for all Centre projects including organisation of and support for centre staff meetings; contract management; employment arrangements for any necessary consultants,
  • Coordinate and monitor updates to the Centre's website, and other publicity
  • Create and disseminate a Centre newsletter.
  • Assist in planning, organising, and delivering multistakeholder events, as agreed with Centre Director.
  • Assist with finance matters related to Centre projects.
Other reasonable and related duties as agreed with the Centre Director
