Goodman Masson have partnered with a global bank to assist with their search for an experienced Valuation Controller for an initial 6-months contract with a view to extend to 12-months in the future.

The role is based in their London office and will sit within the Product Control structure.

You will support valuations for Non-Global Markets businesses and will assist management in conversations on valuations with the stakeholders who are responsiblefor their respective business areas.

There is a broad scope on this role and you will be joining a growing team within the group (6 in London, 3 in Poland, 1 in the US and 2 in Bangalore).

Main Responsibilities

Calculation of monthly Fair Value Adjustments & quarterly Prudent Valuation Adjustments
Performing Fair Value calculations for investments within the Strategic Innovation Investments and Markets & Securities Services Investments on a quarterly basis
Estimates of company valuations using standard techniques
Fair Value Levelling of positions in both Global Banking and Private Equity business areas
Project work
Dealing/presenting to senior stakeholders
Ensure the efficient and effective management of the IPV, FVA and PVA processes and to ensure that regulatory standards are met
Build/maintain relationship within and around Product Control & Finance teams

Skills & Experience

Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
Product experience (Loans, Bonds, Equities etc.)
Valuation Control experience (IPV & calculating FVA's)
Advanced Excel skills
Good understanding of the financial markets
Strong communication (both verbal and written) skills
