- The smooth running of IT systems and applications and network, ensuring excellent uptime levels. (Multi-site UK).
- Providing users with a First-Class level of customer service, responding to IT support calls placed through the IT Helpdesk, via telephone and in person.
- The smooth running and monitoring of all locally hosted IT hardware and IT Services in the Plymouth manufacturing centre. Ensuring that all issues found are quickly and smoothly resolved, communicated or escalated when appropriate to the IT Network Engineer 3rd Line team.
- Lead Support and Mentor two First Line Network Engineers
- Have knowledge of the company IT policies and procedures and ensure that you and your team uphold them at all times. Evaluate, suggest and implement new policies or procedures as the need arises.
- Quickly identifying when to escalate issues assigned to 1st, 2nd line support to a more senior team member to ensure our customers receive the fastest possible service for their needs.
- Evaluate existing technologies and processes with the view of providing continuous improvement from within the business. Bring your ideas to the team for discussion.
- Evaluate and suggest new IT technologies, methods and processes to improve business functions with a view to supporting business and sales growth. Bringing your ideas to the team for discussion.
- Participate in regular Team meetings to discuss IT issues and projects.
- Assist in IT related business projects where necessary.
- A minimum of Four years second line IT Support experience.
- Five GCSE's Grades A* - C including English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
- TCP/IP Networking and troubleshooting.
- Power Shell scripting
- Experience of Dell hardware and mobile devices (Tablets, Phones etc.)
- Server hardware knowledge.
- Experience supporting end point devices, printers, access points and switches.
- Microsoft OS Knowledge including Server & Client
- Troubleshooting & supporting LOB Applications
- Able to work under own initiative coupled with an excellent Team ethic. Trustworthy and reliable.
- Able to quickly build relationships at all levels coupled with a First-Class customer service ethic.
- Calm under pressure and resilient.
- Full, Clean driving license.
- Computer related Professional Qualification (e.g., CompTIA+ ) or similar.
- MS Active Directory and Group Policy Admin experience.
- Cisco networking experience.
- Experience of VOIP solutions.
- Experience of working in a Matrix managed structure.
- Worked in a shared or managed services environment
- Basic understanding of ITSM/ITIL principles

Description
Experienced Second Line IT Network Engineer required for a global manufacturing company at their Plymouth based site. Reporting to the Head of IT, the successful candidate will provide a lead function in our client's global program to standardise IT security and infrastructure and will be required to lead and support two First Line Network Engineers in providing professional 'boots on the ground' support for both local users whilst supporting the business at the other UK sites. Candidates who apply for this position must have the immediate right to work in the UK.

The successful candidate will be based in Plymouth but will be expected to travel to other UK based sites for this client.
