Description
Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Oakham Veterinary Hospital
The salary for this role is up to £70,000 (pro-rata for part-time) depending on experience and relocation allowance up to £5,000.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Small Animal Vet to join our fantastic team Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a first-class, first opinion veterinary service supported by our experienced, fully qualified nursing and clinical teams. With the clinical freedom to follow and work up cases to a high standard, you will make a positive impact from day one and will be keen to contribute to our continued growth. Our ideal candidate will be a team player who has an interest in future progression.
Work life balance that works for you
The role is permanent and full-time working 40 hours per week, across 4-5 days. However we are in the fortunate position of being able to accommodate part time depending on your requirements.
Consults are offered 7 days per week and the post-holder will participate in an on-call rota for in-patients only, with support from our permanent Night RVN team, one night per week and 1:5 weekends (Fri- Sun, with time off in lieu). VetsNow provide all other OOH cover. The weekend consists of Saturday 8:30am-5pm and Sunday 8am-12pm and is a mixture of consults, inpatient checks and emergencies. This gives our vets and patients the benefit of continuity of care without the need to transfer to another site
Our practice
We offer wide and varied surgical and medical caseloads which are supported by laparoscopy and endoscopy equipment, digital radiography and CT. Team members include certificate holders in cardiology, surgery/orthopaedics, dentistry and internal medicine. Through our teaching associations with the University of Nottingham Vet School, you will have opportunities to work alongside leading surgeons and clinicians. Situated in the rural East Midlands, Oakham is a pleasant market town with excellent road and rail connections, good schools and a wealth of leisure activities on our doorstep.
Join our experienced and collaborative team
The best part of joining us is our fantastic practice team, made up of 8 vets, including certificate holders in cardiology, surgery/orthopaedics, internal medicine, dentistry, 1 graduate vet, 10 registered veterinary nurses including 3 night registered veterinary nurses and advanced certificate holders, 2 student nurses, 3 hospital assistants supported by 12 customer care staff.
CPD is encouraged and provided in order to maintain our delivery of the most up-to-date animal care, within a practice which fully encourages and supports your development
