JOB TITLE:
- Transport Coordinator (12 month temporary)
DIVISION:
- Window Systems
SITE LOCATION:
- Telford
REPORTS TO:
- Transport Manager/ Transport Shift Manager
Job Purpose:
- The Transport coordinator will be responsible for planning routes through microlise in accordance with restrictions of the group operator's licence whilst also meeting customer requirements. The Transport coordinator will also be responsible for managing resources i.e., driver holidays and ensuring vehicles are made available for routine maintenance through working with the transport team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Plan routes for next day using Microlise.
- Communicate runs to drivers and key stakeholders.
- Manage driver holidays.
- Book vehicle PMI's with relevant maintenance vendors.
- Debriefing drivers when possible.
- Arranging defect rectification in a timely manner and ensuring admin process around defect rectification is followed.
- Communicating with other departments to ensure customers/suppliers needs are met.
- Adhoc tasks include raising and approving purchase orders in a timely manner.
- Analysing and solving logistic problems.
- Working knowledge of the Highway Code, EU tachograph requirements, Working Time Regulations, Road Transport Regulations.
- Create and provide reports on a variety of planning metrics to transport manager.
- Aid in the next phase of microlise/Navision upgrade ad implementation.
Key Experiences and Skills Required:
- 1 year of planning experience required.
- Microlise experience advantageous.
- Microsoft Navision experience advantageous.
- Working in an HGV driver facing role environment.
- Geographical knowledge
