- Previous component design within a similar industry an advantage.
- R&D environment that produce both one off prototypes and volume production runs.
- Experience leading a team and working in a similar industry.
- An understanding of the new product development process.
- Ability to work to deadlines and have great attention to detail.
- Be selfmotivated and have an organised approach to work.
- Demonstrate positive leadership skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Degree qualified in engineering or similar desirable.
- Chartered Engineer or hold an affiliate / associate membership of a relevant professional body would be desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will operate as part of a modern Engineering function and will lead a team of people, ensuring the smooth running of the department.
- The role overseas the design and development of products (typically structural components) used in Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Energy sectors etc
- Oversee and manage the full process from concept to delivery, ensuring efficient outputs.
- You will lead the Engineering teams to support the growth of the production of composite products and tooling for aerostructures and propulsion, wheels, armouring and protection.
- Define the roles and objectives of your teams to support the needs of the business, identify shortfalls or skill gaps and ensure a robust plan is in place to develop engineers.
- Manage and lead a team of engineers to support the introduction of new innovative products and processes.
- Carrying out technical product development reviews and produce reports resulting from engineering activities.

- Liaise with other parts of the business to deliver those developments within the product release schedule.
