    Description
    Test Environment Engineer

    As a Barclays Test Environment Engineer, you will be a key to ensuring environment availability for testing by Release Management and environment stability upstream and downstream payment flows.

    Where issues occur, you will work with service providers to ensure effective and timely resolution takes place and provide accurate communications to our stakeholders and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) including technology, standards, and implementations.

    Maintaining High availability of non-production environments by managing proactive and effective monitoring & alerting of test infrastructure


    • Preserving and enhancing the knowledge base of Environment Monitoring and Automation activities by appropriate documentations
    • Working closely with the Lead Environment Manager and Environments As A Service Leads to own and implement service delivery tasks and assist with initiatives
    • Escalating and reporting as required and implementing permanent solutions for recurring issues
    • Assisting with DevOps initiative of implementing infrastructure as code using Chef/Puppet/Ansible
    • Working experience on Linux and Windows Operating System
    • Working knowledge of MQ, Oracle and other relational Databases
    • Has configuration, management and support experience of Apache Web Servers and Application Servers – JBOSS, WAS
    • Implementation knowledge of Chef, firewall, PKI, Cyberwallet and SSL/TLS encryption
    Skills that will help you in the role:


    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or any equivalent engineering discipline
    • Conversant with SDLC methodologies like Agile and SCRUM
    • Skills in languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby, Shell etc
    • Good grasp of AWS, Terraform, Chef, OpenStack, Containerisation and Cloud models – IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Infrastructure virtualization
