Description
Permanent Full-Time Position; 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday (with a requirement for overtime working where required; Use of Company Vehicle; 23 days Holiday plus Bank Holidays; Pension Scheme; Professional Membership; Company Events; On-Site Parking; Training and Progression Opportunities.


A Bachelor degree in Earth Science or Environmental Engineering is required for this position.

Please note that this role will sometimes require overnight working. There will also be requirement for some early starts and occasional weekend working.

A Full driving licence is essential.
ACS offer independent professional materials testing and consultancy services aimed at the Construction and Environmental sectors.

Our seamless all-in-one service includes physical and chemical laboratory testing, site investigation and testing, and geoscience and materials management consultancy.

We test a wide range of materials, including natural and recycled aggregates, bituminous materials, fresh and hardened concrete, soils, and ground/surface waters.


The consultancy and site investigation sector of our business currently employs more than 18 staff of various levels of qualification and experience.


Geo-Environmental Engineer:


  • ACS Testing Ltd, a Phenna Group Company, have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Geo-Environmental Engineer/Consultant to work at our office in Poole, Dorset.


The scope of our work typically encompasses contaminated land desk studies, site investigation planning, execution and reporting, remediation planning and verification reporting, landfill monitoring, CQA and waste consultancy.

We are supported by our in-house specialist services including geotechnical and chemical laboratories, as well as in-house drilling, coring and in-situ testing services.

The successful applicant will communicate confidently and professionally with clients and fellow colleagues. They will be enthusiastic and have stamina for outdoor working. They will have a willingness to learn new skills in support of career progression. They will be able to work alone and within a team environment.


Responsibilities

You will:

  • Supervise site investigation works, including trial pitting, windowless drilling and infiltration testing
  • Implement environmental monitoring programmes at quarries, landfills and development sites
  • Liaise with clients, regulators and other staff
  • Develop testing schedules for physical and chemical parameters
  • Prepare desk studies and geoenvironmental/geotechnical site investigation reports
  • Maintain strict Quality and Health and Safety requirements

Requirements:


  • A first degree in Earth Sciences or Environmental Engineering;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills;
  • Strong IT capabilities, including use of Office suite;
  • Full clean driving licence company vehicles will be provided but some fieldwork may involve driving significant distances
