    WHAT TO EXPECT

    Be part of the forefront of innovation as JLR's new Base Software Product Owner role, where you will play a key part in the hybrid and electrified powertrains supporting JLR's objective of delivering clean and efficient products to our customers. Our team is responsible for the in-house development of the embedded base software, which provides the capability to rapidly develop and deploy a platform for the application control software. Maximising the benefits of these technologies through a short time to market and delivering unique industry-leading features.

    You will play a key part in defining all aspects of the product and understanding inputs from stakeholders and customers to manage the backlog and priorities of the software development team in the delivery of the Base Software for our next generation of electrification components.

    Your experience in embedded software in the field of automotive electrification will enable you to quickly gain control of the product roadmap, and drive the plan of work for the software development team. In addition, you will champion a process-driven approach and maintain close contact with your Product Owner peers within the group, and the Software Scrum Master to ensure full alignment. In return, you will have the satisfaction of seeing the software you helped deliver embedded within the most advanced JLR products of the future.

    Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Lead the sprint planning session and define the priorities for the Sprint – as Product Owner, define 'what' is done, not 'how'
  • Coordinate with other squads, adjacent Product Owners, stakeholders, and technical leads to confirm, prioritise, and resolve dependencies ensuring a logical incremental delivery of features to mature the product to meet the customer expectations
  • Own, maintain, and manage the product backlog, capturing requirements and open issues, ensuring a quality and timely delivery to support the product
  • Supply the strategy and process to be followed to ensure the achievement of attributes and an ongoing competitive position of the product
  • Support the Scrum Master and team in daily scrum meetings to prioritise and execute 'stories' assigned to the Sprint

    • WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Embedded C or AUTOSAR development experience at the microprocessor level for a real-time environment
  • Software project management, coordination, and delivery experience in a team environment, ideally gained as a Product Owner or equivalent role
  • Experience working with suppliers & customers, both internal and external, in the delivery of embedded control software and sourcing of software modules
