    Development Manager (Land & New Business)Watford, Hertfordshire£55,000 - £65,00037 hours per weekAt Watford Community Housing, we're committed to building high-quality new homes that help people to live better lives. We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Partnerships team as a Development Manager (Land & New Business).What's the role?You will contribute to identifying and acquiring new opportunities for development by Watford Community Housing and our commercial arm, Clarendon Living, both independently and in partnerships with others.You will be able to identify relevant sites through existing or new relationships, take them from inception and feasibility, through planning and then pass on to our delivery team, whilst maintaining scheme viability and undertaking the necessary approvals and reports to keep schemes compliant with our internal governance procedures.What are we looking for?The ideal candidate for this role will have recent and relevant experience in procuring and delivering new opportunities within a similar role. As such, you'll be able to demonstrate a level of skill in delivering sites and maintaining excellent relationships by working collaboratively with partners within and outside the Group.Essential:

    • Have experience of preparing development appraisals & risk registers along with appraisal software (ProVal LS and bespoke business plans)
    • Have a good level of skill in developing and maintaining excellent relationships, working collaboratively with both internal and external partners.
    • Possess the ability and skills to negotiate at a high level, being mindful of relationships and the local political environment.
    • You will need to hold a UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle, with insurance cover for business use.
    • Knowledge of end to end housing development and relevant financial, legal and statutory requirements.
    • In depth knowledge of the housing sector.
    • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and ProVal/Pamwin
    Desirable
    • Degree level education or equivalent through relevant training and/or experience.
