Job description:

As an Employer Directory & Quality Assurance Officer you will be part of IfATE's Delivery Group.

You will have responsibility for supporting a range of quality assurance activities in relation to both apprenticeships and Technical Qualifications, as well as helping to support the wider capability of the team.


We are looking for a dynamic, resourceful and innovative individual to support the continual development and subsequent improvement of the Directory of Professional and Employer-led Bodies ('The Employer Directory').

The Employer Directory will ensure a strong employer voice is maintained in the quality assurance of apprenticeships.


You will also be involved in supporting wider quality assurance work across the range of products for which IfATE has responsibility.


Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and recruiting appropriate organisations to the Employer Directory and provide ongoing support to existing Directory organisations.
  • Collecting and analysing evidence about the use and effectiveness of the Directory, working closely with other teams and regulatory partners
  • Helping to develop a communications plan to improve understanding of the Employer Directory and wider quality assurance internally and externally
  • Supporting a range of projects focusing on assuring employers about the quality of our technical education products and evaluating the impact of our work

Person specification:

We are looking for a pro-active team-player with excellent communication and organisation skills. You will be able to work flexibly to deliver a critical piece of work.


Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrable ability to build and maintain strong working relationships confident and professional in building and maintaining strong relationships with a range of internal and external partners at all levels
  • Ability to negotiate and influence to achieve great results
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly on multiple tasks, plan, prioritise own workload and coordinate wider team work to ensure deadlines are met and outputs are of a high quality
  • Excellent customer service skills, providing highquality service and demonstrate the ability and willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate policy and data to inform planning and decision making and identify opportunities for improving or enhancing results
  • Ability to work independently but also as part of a team to deliver tasks to deadline.

  • Understanding of the technical education policy landscape


Working flexibly is important to the success of the IfATE, and while you will have specific responsibilities as set out above, you will be part of a 'one team' approach and may be asked to be involved in a range of other activities.

As new areas of work progress, you may be asked to move between teams to deliver the IfATE's key priorities.
