    Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust delivers the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in Hampshire. We have a very exciting new post for a Social Work Lead Clinician. The post will be situated within the county wide Early Help clinical structure, the successful candidate will work closely with the Consultant Social Worker supporting professional and clinical leadership for the Social Work workforce across the Hampshire CAMHS is an exciting time to be a Social Worker in CAMHS, Children's Mental Health is the focus of many conversations locally and nationally. This will be a varied, challenging position that would suit an experienced Social Worker who is looking to develop their clinical leadership and practice education skills. You will have some leadership experience and want to bring vision, energy and creativity to make a difference to the working lives of social workers and the young people who use our services. The successful candidate will primarily be based in one of the area hubs, but will work with the team across the whole county, therefore the ability to drive with access to own transport is of our key aims is to ensure our staff are well supported and have enjoyable, achievable roles where they can excel.     Main duties of the job

    This role will have two main lead roles; 1) To act as a lead for Advice and Consultation for the service ensuring a consistent, effective and efficient approach that meets the needs of our external partners, internal workforce and the children, young people and families for whom we deliver a service, and 2) supporting the development of practice education in Hampshire CAMHS.The successful candidate will be a practice educator with a passion for developing social workers, this will include student social workers and newly qualified social workers.Hampshire CAMHS has a strong multi professional leadership team and you would be working alongside experienced clinical and management colleagues, where innovation is valued and supported. Supported by the Social Work Consultant and the General Manager for Early Help, you will work with the teams to ensure a high standard of performance and quality. This will occur through high quality supervision, strategic service development, clinical leadership as well as some clinical work into the team, especially for highly complex situations, where multiagency care plans are challenging, or where clinical risk is will need to have a flair for collaborative working and problem solving in a multi-agency context, and be confident dealing with staff from other agencies at all levels to ensure that young people receive the best care, and that our staff are well supported in their work

    The transformation will happen in staggered stages; Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning in early May 2024. The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.

    Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.

    Essential

  • Recognised professional qualification in Social Work
  • Registered with the appropriate professional body Social Work EnglandEvidence of continued professional development.Educated to master's degree level or willingness to undertake appropriate training.Practice assessor/ Supervisor training
