Specialist Occupational Therapist - Rowley Regis, United Kingdom - Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust
Description
Job summary
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist, with a passion for rehabilitation, to join our Integrated Intermediate care rehabilitation team, as we seek to expand our service. Our team works across 2 sites at Rowley Regis Hospital and Leasowes, Smethwick.
Could this be you?:
This role is suitable for a current, experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapist looking to secure their first senior role or someone already worked at a Band 6 level who is keen to specialise in the area. This job is being advertised as a part-time position, but there may be potential for the number of hours to be increased in the future.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a multi-professional team working collaboratively with others to deliver person-centred, coordinated care from the point of admission onto the intermediate care unit, to discharge. You will work with patients with a variety of conditions including trauma and orthopaedic patients, neurological impairment (stroke, MS, Parkinson's, spinal injuries), frailty and those with cognitive deficits, management of long term conditions including cardiac and respiratory conditions.
About us
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.
Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens this year and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.
We have three newly emerging strategic objectives:
