TOOLROOM OPERATIVE - TECHNICAL CENTRE SHOP FLOOR

Reports to:
Technical Manager - Technical Centre

Location:
Shop floor based in Oldbury, West Midlands

Hours of work:
Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm with half hour lunch break each day and 7.30am to 12.30pm with no lunch

break on Friday of each week - 37 hours in total, paid monthly

hands on experience within a press tool repair and manufacturing environment and the ability to work under pressure. The individual
will be expected to support the day-to-day production activities in the most efficient manner, working with a team to provide
preventative, breakdown, and development activities to support the manufacturing divisions.

Person specification

  • Have experience with CNC Turning, based on Siemens controls
  • Able to read engineering drawings
  • Well organised, multiskilled, selfmotivated and professional
  • Good timekeeping and attendance
  • Responsible for achieving own key objectives, as well as the objectives of the team
  • Able to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Computer literate and able to communicate and record information effectively
  • Attention to detail; accuracy is paramount
  • Able to communicate at all levels and have a "can do" attitude
  • Must be eligible and able to prove that you can work in the UK.

Responsibilities:


  • Operate standard tool room equipment proficiently
  • Operate a Forklift Truck to assist with daily duties whilst also enabling tooling to be delivered to production
  • Ensure as part of the team, manufacture is covered in a timely manner so that tryout dates are met
  • Ensure as part of the team, breakdowns are covered in a timely manner so that production downtime is kept to a minimum
  • Aim for a "right first time" approach to all work carried out
  • Liaise with contractors/suppliers where required and when additional support is needed, including agreeing timescales and costs
  • Maintain awareness and ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, housekeeping standards and Company rules
and procedures

  • Follow verbal or written instructions and work to set out procedures
  • Seek continuous improvement related to the business KPI's and as part of the team, contribute towards improved performance
and the overall improvement of the business.
