PRODUCTION WELDER - CABLE MANAGEMENT SHOP FLOOR

Reports to:
Production Manager - Cable Management

Location:
Shop floor based in Oldbury, West Midlands

Hours of work:
Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm with half hour lunch break each day and 7.30am to 12.30pm with no lunch

break on Friday of each week - 37 hours in total, paid monthly

Metsec Cable Management manufactures cable containment and support systems for the mechanical and electrical services

industry. This is a permanent full-time position in the welding area of the Cable Management Shop Floor. The role will involve you

welding and using associated equipment and will therefore require manual handling of material.

Person specification

Manufacturing experience in a production environment
Be well organised, multiskilled, selfmotivated, and professional
Computer literate
Attention to detail; accuracy is paramount
Able to work effectively in a team and on your own
Good timekeeping and attendance
Be consistent with workload and work to tight deadlines
Be flexible with tasks/duties so that adequate cover is available if ever required
Be able to communicate at all levels and have a "can do" attitude
Must be eligible and able to prove that you can work in the UK as the Company does not hold a sponsorship licence.

Responsibilities:

Lifting, assembling, and welding ladder parts
Welding finished components
Jig, fixture, and tool changeovers
Operating banding machines
Recording production data
Achieving daily production targets to meet customer demand
Seeking continuous improvement related to process and quality as well as on time delivery.
