DETAIL DRAUGHTSPERSON - PURLINS DRAWING OFFICE

Reports to:
Drawing Office Manager - Purlins

Location:
Full time office based in Oldbury, West Midlands

Hours of work:
Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm with half hour lunch break each day and 8.30am to 1.30pm with no lunch

break on Friday of each week - 37 hours in total

voestalpine Metsec's Purlins Division is the UK's largest designer and manufacturer of light gauge galvanised steel purlins, side rails
in interpreting customer fabrication details and manually entering / importing this into 'MetCAM' in readiness for production.
Customer and sales contact is made on a daily basis.

Person specification

An understanding of structures and basic design principles would be an advantage
Be well organised, selfmotivated and professional
Have good timekeeping and attendance
Be able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
Be able to communicate at all levels
Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
Always be looking for new ways to make improvements
Must be eligible and able to prove you can work in the UK.

Responsibilities:

Interpreting customer fabrication drawings
Entering details manually or importing CAM files into our inhouse detailing software and checking ready for production
Producing or modifying manufacturing drawings to accompany orders
Communicating with customers, sales and production.
