FORKLIFT TRUCK (FLT) DRIVER / GENERAL OPERATIVE - DRY LINING SHOP FLOOR

Production Manager - Dry Lining

Location:
Shop floor based in Oldbury, West Midlands

Hours of work:
Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm with half hour lunch break each day and 7.30am to 12.30pm with no lunch

break on Friday of each week - 37 hours in total, paid monthly.

Metsec Dry Lining specialise in the manufacture and supply of light gauge, non-load bearing, cold-rolled formed metal products for

use in partitioning, dry lining, and ceiling systems. This is a permanent full-time position working as part of an established team within

a busy fast-paced production environment, driving and operating forklift trucks, and providing cover on rolling mills when required.

Person specification

Have experience of working in a manufacturing environment
Hold a valid counterbalance forklift truck licence
Have experience of loading/unloading, dispatch, booking in/out and moving items in/out
Be well organised, multiskilled, selfmotivated and professional
Have good timekeeping and attendance
Be able to prioritise the workload and work to tight deadlines
Be responsible for achieving key objectives
Be an effective team player
Be able to communicate at all levels and have a "can do" attitude
Must be eligible and able to prove that you can work in the UK as the Company does not hold a sponsorship licence.

Responsibilities:

Drive and operate forklift trucks 4way combination, 5.5T counterbalance, 2.5T counterbalance
Work on own initiative from written instructions and complete paperwork for the loading and unloading of vehicles
Work with a highlevel racking system
Stack goods in the correct storage bays, following stock control instructions
Perform daily equipment checks
Scan coils onto mills
Check loads are secure
Pick and pack goods and store to locations
Operate the weighbridge
Operate an overhead crane
Flexible to cover other roles if and when required.
