- The Quality and Standards team set standards in paediatric education and training through the development and quality assurance of curricula, examinations and assessments. The team develops and manages the process of the postgraduate paediatric and SPIN (special interest) curricula, working closely with clinicians. Also supports the College Tutors and works with Deaneries to ensure quality in education and training, and ensures adherence to General Medical Council standards. Project management is an integral skill within this role.
- You will provide wideranging support to the Curriculum & Quality Manager in the ongoing maintenance and review of the postgraduate paediatric training and SPIN (special interest) module curricula. The role holder will act as a proof reader, paying meticulous attention to detail to finalise high quality documentary outputs.
- You will support a range of activities crucial for quality assurance and improvement of training, including gathering and summarising information CSAC Annual Reviews, surveys etc, and building strong working relationships with external stakeholders. In addition to this, you will provide a significant level of support with all communications relating to curriculum development, stakeholder updates and engagement. This will include website management for curriculum related webpages, social media updates and event promotion.
- The role requires working flexibly across the Education and Training Division, supporting other sections when needed and the ability to work autonomously.
Responsibilities - 1. With the Curriculum & Quality Manager monitor and review the paediatric postgraduate curriculum and training programme, respond to curriculum queries from trainees and trainers, manage budgets and update expense spreadsheets
- 2. Produce, administrate, monitor and evaluate the progression of a range of projects,
- 3. Assisting with the production and quality assurance of curricula, syllabus Special Interest documents for paediatricians, acting as a proof reader to finalise high quality documentary outputs, paying meticulous attention to detail.
- 4. Collate data, analyse and presents data in order to support with reporting to the College managers and ensure implementation and adherence to regulatory standards.
- 5. Administer College Tutor activities, including organising tutor support events and managing College Tutor eBulletin and other communications, including digital resources and webpages.
- 6. Support survey development, upload surveys and analyse feedback/results for reporting to senior managers.
- 7. Provide support and guidance to College Tutors as well as manage the database and records for College Tutors.
- 8. Manage externality by working with Deaneries by sourcing advisers, collating reports, analysing feedback and reporting good practice to the Education and Training Executive, including Senior Management.
- 9. Working with the Training Services team, collate data, analyse and report on key themes and trends, including highlighting concerns/issues.
- 10. Attend and present at meetings relating to the Paediatric curriculum, training and its development as well as training event management and meeting diary management for Officers within the Education & Training Division and VP for Training & Assessment.
- 11. Manage the curriculum and quality webpages, updating as appropriate, managing the resources held within and keeping all contemporary.
Essential skills - Essential
- Educated to 'A' Level or relevant experience in a similar line of work
- Some understanding of quality assurance processes
- Proven proof reading skills
- Relevant administrative experience
- Experience of event management support
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written including excellent report writing skills and the ability to present information in a fluent and persuasive manner to people at a range of levels
- Experience of working with and influencing a wide range of people at all levels of an organisation and strong experience of working with a variety of teams across an organisation.
