Team Lead Occ Therapist - Medicine & Palliative CareAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join our occupational therapy team as the Occupational Therapy Lead for General Medicine and palliative care at University Hospital Lewisham.
This is an exciting opportunity for either an established band 7 or a band 6 who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Funding is available for masters modules and external training courses.An innovative and an enthusiastic team player is required to maximise the potential of the service and direct the team in its development.
The role includes supervising an OT team (qualified and assistants) covering specialisms including Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Cardiology , Oncology and Palliative Care.
Applicants should be committed to delivering a high quality service based on your knowledge of evidence based practice and clinical governance.
As the team lead, you will also be responsible for supervision, training and development of the team, as well as contributing to departmental and Trust improvements.
Service development and audit (to evidence efficiency and efficacy) are essential and as such experience in this field crucial.The successful applicant will be supervised by Lead OT to ensure they are supported in their role and professional development.
Peer support is encouraged with a trust wide band 7 support group and strong links with equivalent post at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Undertaken a range of relevant postgraduate courses
Undertaken clinical educators training

Wide ranging post graduate Occupational Therapy experience including having held senior position in relevant speciality
Experience in leading and completing audit and evidence based projects.
Experience of supervision and appraisal of Occupational Therapy staff and students with ability to give constructive feedback and performance management when necessary
Evidence of actively participating in in-service training and presenting to large MDT groups, undergraduate and postgraduate staff and evaluating effectiveness of training
Evidence of leading change management and innovation in clinical practice
Previous experience at band 7 Level
Actively involved in developing research links with other academic institutions
