    Job summary

    Looking for a fantastic new opportunity within a new state of the art therapy led inpatient unit in Norwich opening in 2024

    We are looking for a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist to lead the Willow Unit alongside Clinical Leads for Nursing, Occupational Therapy and a Service Lead.

    We require an enthusiastic, autonomous and highly motivated individual with experience in leadership who is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care. Utilising the latest therapy and rehabilitation technology and practices, you will be a part of this new team and will play a pivotal role in supporting patients back into the community and, in this role, we can offer you the opportunity to play a significant part in both the development of the team and therapy led, reablement culture within a brand new unit.

    The post holder will work closely with other leaders including the Head of Service within Community Beds & System Operations portfolio.

    Join our exciting journey to build our new unit creating a supportive and comfortable environment for 48 patients at NCH&C's Norwich Community Hospital site.

    Main duties of the job

  • To provide professional and clinical leadership and contribute to the delivery of high standards of health care to patients within their own homes, care homes, the travelling community and in clinics, by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating packages of care.
  • Be responsible for delivery of care in a reablement setting.
  • To support an environment where all team members are responsible for a reablement ethos using a positive risk-taking approach for patients, their carers and families.
  • To support patients being as independent as possible within their functional limits.
  • To provide clinical leadership within the Integrated Team.
  • To work as part of a multidisciplinary team within a quality framework to ensure that the highest standards of care are met.
  • To support and deliver innovation within discharge practice and pathways.
  • To work with system partners including the voluntary sector to ensure that patients experience a seamless transfer of care both into and onward from the unit.
  • To work in conjunction with the quality team to ensure that quality compliance and quality improvement is central to the work on the unit and the quality tools and pathways are followed.
  • Work proactively within the team to achieve unit and trust goals and objectives.

    Job responsibilities

  • Demonstrate good clinical and professional leadership skills.
  • Instigate, and actively participate with the Team Leader in the development of the operational strategy and project management.
  • Be responsible for ensuring workload for self and others is planned and prioritised according to service targets and needs.
  • Contribute to the supervision of workload within the integrated team.
  • Actively contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and other meetings where appropriate, and chair meeting in the absence of the Unit Lead.
  • Support all team members within the integrated team, respecting them, their roles and contributions.
  • Produce induction programme for students and new starters.
  • Be aware of budget and ensure all effort is made to work within this.
  • Ensure working environment is conducive for learning, and an appropriate learning experience for students.
  • Provide advice/training to less experienced staff and supervise and support band 3 and 4 staff, and students where appropriate.
  • Undertake Personal Development Plans for more junior staff members.
  • Undertake comprehensive Physiotherapy assessments of patients including those with a complex presentation, using investigative, analytical and clinical reasoning skills, and formulate a graded treatment plan.
  • To work with all health care professionals, and statutory/non statutory agencies to provide a seamless, integrated service to our service users.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Diploma or 1st level degree in Physiotherapy, or equivalent experience
  • Current HCPC Registration
  • Clinical Educators course
  • Desirable

  • Masters Degree
  • Knowledge, Skills and Ability
