Essential
- Engage and support disabled and nondisabled young people aged years to realise their own visions and goals.
- Support young people on their life journey, and provide platforms to develop new skills, build selfesteem and confidence.
- Offer vulnerable young people at risk of criminal involvement, opportunities and support through facetoface youth work interventions, positive activities, group work, mentoring and family support with the involvement of the Family Support Manager.
- Create expanded opportunities for young people in and around the Stockwell area, to acquire leadership skills and accredited qualifications in line with set KPI's.
- Coordinate and deliver effective volunteering opportunities for young people which are planned and devised in collaboration with the Head of Access and Support (HofA&S).
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Develop youth led positive activities and interventions at Oasisplay through Youth Night (Friday Evening) Pit stop (Tuesday Evening) and Adventure Playground sessions (Saturday daytime) to the standards set by the Head of A&S.
- Activities to include: issue based workshops (budgeting, drugs awareness, health) youth forum, social action projects, citizenship, leadership activities, training and skill development activities, creative, physical and social activities.
- During holiday periods organise, support the planning of and attend trips and residential with prior agreement with the Head of A&S.
- Coordinate and deliver a mentoring programme in response to the needs of young people attending all Oasisplay projects. Providing ongoing advice, information, guidance and pastoral support.
- Manage a caseload of referrals from Oasisplay managers. Review young person's progress towards goals set on a fortnightly basis.
- Maintain confidential notes and reports in line with GDPR.
- Support volunteering opportunities for young people across the 4 Oasisplay sites. This will involve signing up young people as volunteers, introducing them to a variety of opportunities and liaising with site managers to help the young person transition seamlessly as a member of the team.
- Support the implementation of the volunteer support programme
- Outreach into the local community to recruit and engage a target number of young people into each programme.
- Promote the YEP outreach through social media and the Oasisplay website and update content on a regular basis.
- Create and distribute leaflets, posters and attend school assemblies to promote the service and build a strong network with individuals and groups in the local community.
Maintain Data and information
- Maintain up to date records of young volunteers and participants.
- Participate in the development, implementation and reviewing of individual action plans.
- Ensure all targets and outcomes are recorded in Outcome Stars or a similar database.
- Periodically prepare reports on the progress of the Youth Empowerment Project for the Head of A&S, Director, Oasis Management Committee, funders and other third parties.
General Duties
- Work with the Head of Access and Support and other staff members to ensure the professional delivery of the Youth Empowerment Project.
- Participate in the promotion of the programme at meetings and events, and to advocate for young people's needs in third party agendas.
- Show commitment and understanding of the Oasis Play Policies, including Equal Opportunities Policy, and Safeguarding Policy.
- Responsible for working within the Health and Safety regulations and policies.
- Undertake any other duties from time to time as agreed with the Head of Access & Support
